That you light in me, that you light in me

Another month, another EP. Bishop Allen give Ryan Adams a run for his money. It's not just that they're releasing a lot of records - they're releasing records every month. True, they're four-song EPs, but these songs are complicated little things, made of all sorts of sounds. Sometimes it's just an acoustic guitar and a glockenspiel ("Butterfly Nets"), and other times it's a little more elaborate. A case in point:
I write about these guys pretty often, so if you don't like them, you're probably sick of my posts. However, I can't really imagine disliking Bishop Allen. That's like hating puppies or regularly thinking, "Those Beatles are sons of bitches. What good songs did they ever write?" (It's not that those people don't exist, it's just that I don't trust them.)
And while they're certainly talented songwriters and a fun, lively band, Bishop Allen are not the Beatles. But they are kind of like puppies.
As always, I digress. You can find this track on their newest EP, June. I haven't heard the whole disc yet, but I just received April and May, and I highly recommend them. The whole series so far has been great, and you can order all six installments here.
