Copper is on the rise, but Brass is worth pure love

Track 01: Baby Dayliner - The Morning Sun

Music For Robots and the folks over at Brassland are thrilled to offer you an online exclusive: a special EP of previously unreleased music (you might have heard tracks as demos or on various MySpace pages), called Brassland For Robots! Tune in all this week, for a new track each weekday (collect all five!), including today's offering from the über-smoother-crooner Baby Dayliner, as well as songs from MFR favorites Pela in addition to forthcoming and unlreased tracks from Erik Friedlander, Clogs, and Devastations.

Today's track comes from MFR live showcase alum Baby Dayliner, a.k.a. Ethan Marunas, a one-man karaoke/caberet/lounge act (though I hear he's touring with a live band now, which ups the ante from wonderful to potentially magical). His smooth, warm tones and classic musical touch are just the thing to help your tired, salt-caked body relax during this cool spell we've been blessed with, post heatwave. Put this on your boombox, head to the roof, plop down on your busted lawn chair and crack open a cold beer. See? It works. It works good. The real gem with BDL is, of course, the live act, and so be sure to check up on your local listings and his tour dates to see when he'll be playing near you.

You can read more about/listen to/buy Brassland artists at Insound (use coupon code "babydayliner" for 15% off!), find their music on iTunes, and of course, check out the label's site or Myspace page for more info on any of their acts. If you really dig what you hear, you can always download 25 free Brassland songs from eMusic as well!

Stay tuned!
