I'm a romantic
The super team that is Walter Meego, who we've had on here a couple of different times, are back in action, with some new material on the way, as well as a show and a couple of 'Super Meego' DJ-gigs here in NYC this weekend.
Okay, so this is the new single "Romantic" which will be on their upcoming full-length album, and it is a white-hot electro-funk track that you kids will just be all over. The record isn't out for some time, but it will be released by Brilliante over here, and the new label called Crosshairs across the pond, and there's word (to be confirmed) of a rather high profile remixer working on a "Keyhole" remix for their UK single, to be released by new upstart Minds on Fire Records... we'll keep you in the loop on that one. In other Meego news, the guys are also headed to Iceland, to play the Iceland Airwaves festival. They'll be playing at Nasa with the Brazilian Girls (among others), Saturday October 21st. Now, with the goods here in NYC, they're playing a live set tomorrow (Friday, August 11th) at Pianos, and I've got two guest-list spots for you guys! The first two people to email me - blair (at) music.for-robots.com - are in like Flynn. It should be an awesome show, and there's word of a Super Meego DJ set at the after-party, hosted by my friends Finger On The Pulse, at Royal Oak in Williamsburg. PLUS, if you don't make the Friday after-party, on Saturday night you'll have another chance to catch a Super Meego set at Club Midway, as part of the Modular Monthly party, which also features my buddies JDH + Dave P from Fixed on the decks, and a live performance by Holy Hail.
