Wolfmother: 1:00 till 1:40ish

Moblogged by MFR

Wolfmother reminds me why Modular is firmly cemented near the top of my short list of favorite labels. To be totally honest, I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed them at much at a club - these fellas are rock stars. Real, loud grit-and-metal rock stars on a big stage, and they had the perfect audience. Even though WHFS is dead, we've still got 98 Rock going strong down here in Bawlmer, keeping the white folks fed on a steady diet of Zepplin, Ozzy, etc. Needless to say, this was a very pro-rock crowd, and they ate every song up. Other than the Who, I don't know if anyone else will get as warm of a reception todat (though RHCP) are also favs). In short, B-more like the rock; Wolfmother brought it in spades.
