I found my love and I lost my friend

Tobias Froberg is one of those Scandinavians we've all come to love recently - like Kings of Convenience, Sondre Lerche, Jens Lekman, and Jose Gonzalez - and of those, Froberg (who is Swedish) sounds most like Kings of Convenience. The tracks on Somewhere In the City are mostly sparse, warm acoustic songs with the occasional eclectic arrangement. Case in point:
Tobias Froberg - God's Highway.
Here's what Froberg says about it on his site:
"I wrote that song in a guitar store, trying an old guitar. Immediately I heard two lead-vocals, the vocal arrangements came to me in that store. It's very much a tribute to Paul Simon."
At least he wasn't one of those dickheads playing Sabbath licks.
That description makes sense to me - this is the kind of song that sounds like it was written in a few minutes, but in a good way, as if the melody was already there and just needed someone to find it. I can definitely hear the Paul Simon influence, too, especially the way the song goes from quiet to filled-out, like in "The Boxer."
Anyway, you can buy Froberg's record Somewhere In the City from Amazon.
