Your way wins, and I always lose

This one is just poptastic, plain and simple. I love that this song is the first track from Mighty Fairly's new record Perfectly Good Airplanes, because it bursts out of the gate with this nonstop energy that's totally infectious. And listen to that bassline!
Mighty Fairly - Last Stand Started.
Good clean fun. The rest of Mighty Fairly's record isn't all this poppy, but it's got some great moments. Mighty Fairly is from Minneapolis, and the disc is Twin Cities through and through. This quote comes from a Pulse of the Twin Cities article about the band: "Like most good Minneapolis bands, Mighty Fairly is an evolution of bands that once were and bands that are yet to be; there are three musicians listed in the liner notes as official members, followed by a much longer list of other contributors who play in a handful of other local acts." This puts things pretty succinctly. The disc is produced by John Hermanson of The Hopefuls and Alva Star, and the sound itself just feels very midwestern to me, somehow, like this is the kind of music we depend on for dancing when it's 20 below outside.
I advise you pick the record up by visiting the band's website. Now go practice those handclaps.
