If Something's Worth Doing
The Boggs - Arm in Arm (Hot Chip Remix).
Although today is Tuesday, it feels like Friday. This is because I'm not working tomorrow. I'm flying home to New Hampshire to see my family instead. So, it's hard to get work done, even though I have loads of it to do. Loads. So it's nice to have this long, crazy-ass song to keep me concentrated. It's totally, wild, isn't it? Just listen to this thing - it starts out with some primal drums and then shifts into this synth jam that just explodes.
I saw the Boggs live, a few years ago, in Boston. I didn't know what to think at the time, but the certainly made an impact. They were loud and intense and sounded like no one else I'd heard. Looking back, I realize that it was an amazing show. I saw Hot Chip on Saturday night at the Fonda (one of the worst venues in Los Angeles, which isn't really saying much). While some people weren't into the somewhat "rave" aspect of the show, I thought it was amazing, and danced my tiny heiny off.
And now, we have them together at last. Does it work? Most definitely. All eight minutes and 30 seconds of it. It's a straight jam. It's available today as a limited edition one-sided vinyl. It's on sale at Insound only for 4 dollars and Seventy Five cents. Highly recommended!
