robot Blair - December Mix 2006

Well, as promised, here is another installment in this particular robot DJ's mix series... not perfect, but I've been trying some new things lately, so you'll just have to bear with me. In the one hour+ of this mix, you will come across some brand new stuff, some stuff that's been in circulation a little while and in various DJ-friends crates, a couple of standbys that I always have on hand, and a couple of odd-ball gems. Techno to disco to techno and back again. A lot of the records on here are available from the Turntable Lab, though there are at least a few things you will not find anywhere...

Anywho, I hope you enjoy it - this should help end your weekend nicely, or start your week off with a bang.

What's going on with that Nick Chacona song? I can't tell if it's in the mix or the song itself, but it seems like everything starts to fall apart.

Other than that one section, I LOVED the mix! You rock, Blair!

Hey Justin - I think it is just the song itself, it kind of explodes, falls apart and comes back together... a little offputting maybe, but its also one of the reasons I like the song so much.

Awesome.

The Sebastian track is possibly one of the best tracks of the year, with the Gossip track a very close second (tho the Soulwax nite versions remix slays me evry time...)

Set up my week just right.
Thanks!!!!

I enjoy listening to your mixes. This one, however needs more vocals. Its tight though.

that dj falcon track is a classic.

that playgroup remix of sitwoc is so great. i've been trying to dl that off beatport forever but i've been foiled every time!

like the mix a lot so far.

Thanks for the kind words folks... to the smiley guy, I know there's a lack of vox on this mix, but like I said, I wanted to try something different. To the two Joe's, yes Falcon = classic first-wave Parisian house music, and why not skip the download and buy the vinyl? You get that mix, the awesome Headman mix, the Soulwax Night Versions (which, as noted by Martin, is wicked), and a tough mix by Tronik Youth.
I'm already working on the next mix, so stay tuned to MFR...

Here's another mix you all might like--fairly similar taste in track selection. Made it a few days ago.

nothing like disco mixes to keep typing fingers moving during finals...I'd probably be half as productive right now if not for this (and your other mixes of the last year or so!). thanks.

This is tons of fun.

Haha, I am sooo with kristen on the finals subject. :)

The link to the file seems to have died, anyone have it mirrored?

Sorry Icon, we only keep files up for a couple weeks at most. Anything more than that and the bandwidth costs just get too high.

Dude! Paul Irish is right, I got so much work done with this mix bumping in my headphones. You're the man!
