R.I.P. Ahmet

By now I'm sure you know that Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun has died. I'm not going to list all the music he was responsible for because much more will be said elsewhere, you should just put on some old Atlantic and ATCO records today and marvel. There was a great piece on NPR this morning that you can listen to here the nice thing is they play various Atlantic tracks throughout.

And the industry loses another visionary who put the music ahead of the bottom line. Sad news indeed! We'll miss you Ahmet.

Yeah,

When I heard the news I was going through some music to get my creative juices flowing. In tribute, I played everything I could find that had been influenced by him. He's touched lives through music, so his spirit is now immortal!
