Will forgiveness follow?

parts for all makes

Not to pay Minneapolis' Parts For All Makes a backhanded compliment, but I often really like bands that sound like a pastiche of other bands I love. This band, for example, sounds to me the illegitimate love child of Sleater-Kinney and, say, Letters to Cleo. I also just love the sweet vocals by Katie Marshall and Laura Meloy on this song, which is why I wish they were a bit more prominent in the mix. But enough of my rambling.

Parts For All Makes - Former Jezebel.

This song is from their debut record, Shrinkwrapped Hearts and Paper Dolls, which is very solid overall. There are only six tracks, but they each have their own thing going on. Another good one is "Every Now And Then" (hear it on MySpace), which starts with a creepy little Blur-like piano line and gives way to a satisfying pop chorus.

You can buy Shrinkwrapped Hearts and Paper Dolls from CD Baby. You should.

Yes! Dave, this is a great track... But when are we going to get some more tracks from you? Didn't rumor have it you were going back into the studio?
