Bring your leather lunchbox!

rocknroll

Folks, here's your chance to see and hear everything that's right about the DC music scene right now. Thursday night we've got DC friends-of-robots The Roosevelt and These United States along with NYC's Phonograph at the new H St. venue The Rock and Roll Hotel on Thursday, December 21. If you're still in town or coming in for the holidays this show comes with our highest recommendation.

You've heard These U.S. on the site before, but they've got great new tracks on their myspace (and you'll be hearing more from us about them in the not-too-distant-future).

And here's one from The Roosevelt

The Roosevelt - American Drunk

This one is an older demo I believe, the stuff on their EP shows how fast these guys are taking off.

To top it off the show is at one the newest spots on the H St. corridor, the Rock and Roll Hotel . Say what you will about its location--personally I love it because I can stumble home--but the greatest thing about this new little area in DC is that it's just about tripled the number of live music venues in this town. And that can't be bad. It's finally getting to the point where you can have a legitimate choice of good shows to go to on a given night! It's almost like a real city here. Of course, what I personally am counting down for (bring on the haters) DC goes smoke free on Jan. 1!!!! What this means for me is more shows more shows more shows.

New indie rock bands, new clubs, the holidays. It's the most wonderful time of the year in DC.

P.S. If you're in the Philly area, The Roosevelt and Phonograph are playing The Khyber on Wednesday, Dec. 20, so don't miss out!

Comments

Color me surprised - I didn't know you were from the DC area! RnR Hotel is a great venue, and I'm really happy about some of the bands they are getting in.
