Skaters are pretty

Tommy Guerrero - Salve

Tommy. Guerrero. What a rap sheet this (growed up) kid has: 80's skateboarding star, skate label co-founder, deck art director for Krooked boards, and oh yeah, dude makes music too. To the tune of collaborations with Lyrics Born and Prefuse 73; amazing remixes for personal favorites Poets of Rhythm and Money Mark. Quannum signed him up for his recent full-length project From the Soil to the Soul, which you can download at eMusic for free if you choose, or also find it on iTunes if you swing that way.

This track features labelmate Curumin doing the beautiful Brazilian vocals, but it's a good representative song from the CD. The entire thing focuses on instrumental production, bringing a light and masterful to each song. I drove to Vermont and back recently with this CD as my sole traveling companion, and it's still humming in my ears. Here's to life after 40!
