I know I've told you these things before

my teenage stride

Oh sweet '80s pop, will you save me from Tuesday? I think it's entirely likely. Just take a listen to this track by Brooklyn's My Teenage Stride. It's all catchy licks, sweet reverb, and steady beats. It sounds like the '80s in the best possible way.

My Teenage Stride - Terror Bends.

Some guitars, huh? I love it all. Then the bass runs during the "wait wait wait" section? Glorious!

My Teenage Stride is primarily multi-instrumentalist Jedediah Smith (check out their MySpace page for hilariously adorable pictures of Smith during his formative years), with lots of help from Brett Whitmoyer, Jenny Logan, Dakkan Abbe, and Tris McCall. This song is from their forthcoming record Ears Like Golden Bats, out Feb. 27 - why not order some of their other releases today?

I dig it. The only thing this song is missing is an early picture of Ally Sheedy.

How do I miss bands like this? If you're a Cure fan or like the Radio Department, pick these guys (a a girl) up.

it's funny, i saw the picture and thought 'that soundproofing looks familiar' then realized that soundproofing is just soundproofing, right? then i realized that they're in the practice space across the hall from my band, so maybe it's not all the same. but yeah, they're awesome.
