The Wurst, #2

Runaway - Ain't Afraid to Beg

As promised, My Cousin Roy's super-secretive disco re-edit machine that is Wurst Edits comes through with volume 2 of the jams, this time employing the ridiculous talents of Runaway.

According to the Wurst press-release, Runaway is a Williamsburg, Brooklyn-based duo comprised of "techno auteur" Marcos Cabral (he of Trapez fame) and "disco gadabout" Jacques Renault (Editions Disco). They unearthed some wild underground disco to chop to bits and run through the awesome-izer, then added layers and layers of synths, turning this disco gold into Acid-laced funtimeparty music. Seriously, this stuff is PERFECT, and I have not stopped listening to it since I first heard it in December.

The record is already getting DJ support from the likes of Prins Thomas (Full Pupp/Feedelity), Twitch (Optimo), Steve Kotey (Bear Funk/Chicken Lips), and the NYC party crew that includes James Murphy, Tim Sweeney, and Tim Goldsworthy (all from DFA), Brennan Green, Kaos, Nick Chacona, Sal P. from Liquid Liquid, Escort, James F#%king Friedman, and Prince Language. You can get your grubby hands on it as of yesterday via our friends at the Turntable Lab, here. Crazy limited, and well worth it.

This is disco gold!
