I don't need her number, I just want to dance with my shirt off

Muscles - Ice Cream

When Muscles performs, he is wrapped head to toe in Christmas lights. The events are billed at BYOSL, for bring your own strobe light. When I spoke with him earlier this week, he cut the conversation short in order to run out and buy a new laser. It's important to note that these are not gimmicks - this is just who he is.

I absolutely love this song. It's like tv on the radio fronting hot chip. It's got everything I need on a day like today. It's a busy morning, the sun's heating up fast, and I've got a few minutes alone before the shit hits the fan. So I'll crank up the Muscles record. Easy as that. Sometimes we forget how exciting music can be. Sometimes we forget what a few quick beats and melodies can do.

This young fella hails from Melbourne, where he seems to tour like crazy. Other than that I don't know much about him. I suggest checking out his site for more music and info. Highly recommended.

update. According to Muscles: "the first official release is a 12" vinyl in april through bang gang 12 inches, with the three singles One Inch Badge Pin, Ice Cream and Chocolate, Raspberry, Lemon & Lime with remixes by Van She, Tech and Bagraiders."

Yeah, this is REAL nice, but where the hell do you find his stuff? Everything listed on the Muscles homepage is out of print. Any pointers?

Muscles has put out 6 demo albums/EPs. For a while there (before he started becoming huge) he was just pumping them out and making them freely available on his website.... or he would just send them to you in the post if you asked nicely. He had the EP pictured above for sale for a while. I wonder if he has any left? I feel very lucky to own all of his stuff. Dudes a genius.

dude I am Hot Chip AND TV on the radio's biggest fan and as soon as I heard this song I wrote down "I don't need no lover (which I now can see is wrong, but anyway...), I just wanna dance with my shirt off - hot chip and TVoTR blend" for future research!haha so thanks for bein on the same page and providing all the info I need!

Man, saw Muscles at Golden Plains, and it blew me away. First show on stage, first ever Golden Plains Festival and Muscles ripped it up. I danced with my shirt off.
