Bobby Brown
Chromeo - Tenderoni (Etienne de Crecy remix).
So I saw Chromeo the other night. They blew the sound board upstairs at the Roxy, so they only got to blast their way through five or so songs, but hot damn. Those five songs were jams. It was ridiculous. These crazy ass canadians are busy fingering keyboards, crashing cymbals, thumbing basses and noodling on guitars. I'm not surprised they blew the board because these two dudes have a lot going on. Like a god damn canadian octopus of sex and funk and maple syrup.
it's nice that they're coming back in July for a couple of real dates, but it was also rad to see them in such a tiny place. There weren't many people there at all (I guess not too many people are myspace friends with Scion??) and the crowd was kind of shiftless and aggro, but whatever. The bartenders there are generous and the company was solid. I can't complain.
So anyway, I thought I'd return the favor to Vice by posting this sick remix of Tenderoni. Also, if you haven't already checked it, go explore the origins of tenderoni at its wikipedia entry, penned by Dave 1 himself. They take this shit seriously.
The album, Fancy Footwork, comes out June 19th and you better pick it up. I'm not kidding.
