Off the Rekids

Those of you who have been following along know that I'm a big fan of the Rekids label, home to Matt Edwards' productions as Rekid and Radio Slave, that started with the Rekid 12" My Bleep, a confirmed absolute monster of a song that everyone played last year (and still does).
Over the last year Matt and label-manager James Masters have put out over a dozen twelve-inches on Rekids, by Rekid and Radio Slave, as well as Toby Tobias, Luke Solomon, Spencer Parker, Audiofly & Paul Harris, Mr. G, Matt O'Brien, and Discemi. All of the singles have shown up on various DJ playlists and mix-CDs, because they have been consistently good, banging tracks (covering techno, house, cosmic weirdness and beyond) - this is the key to Rekids success: a unifying, consistently solid sound.
This and the fact that all of the records have featured an amazing remix on the b-side, including reworks (most often) by Radio Slave or Rekid, as well as heavy hitters like Roman Flügel, Jesse Rose, Prins Thomas, Partial Arts, and Claude Von Stroke.
Thus and so comes Rekids One, a 2-CD set, featuring music from all of the singles, an unreleased track, and exclusive remixes. Buy. It. Immediately.
If you don't know the label, hopefully this track - REKIDS002A - is enough to convince you that the label is one to watch and the compilation is a necessary addition to your collection. All sorts of folks are carrying the physical CD (it is a UK release, so us Americans will have to pay for the import), but if you'd rather download tracks, head directly to the Rekids Beatport page. Visit the Rekids Myspace page for up to date info on all things Rekids too.
Super highly recommended. Honestly, this is my jam, and will easily become yours too. Essential listening.
