Oi, GrecoRomans + Contest Winnerz

David E. Sugar - Oi New York, This Is London! (Oi This Doesn't Sound Like Skream Remix)

Now, many of you will all remember back to last year when I posted a great DJ mix by the team calling themselves GrecoRoman, composed of my buddies Alex and Joe, yeah?

In the comments, remember how people kept asking (then going on and on) about "the dirty electro-house tune that drops about 31 minutes in? 'oi oi new york, this is london...'?" Well, this is it here. The GrecoRoman party crew has formed a GrecoRoman Music label, and they've released the single by said artist, David E. Sugar. It is bonkers.

The single, which you can buy from your favorite record shops in the UK (though there's only a thousand copies of the vinyl out there) or download from iTunes, has the original version, which you heard on the GrecoRoman mix, and it also has some absolutely sick remixes, such as this one by the normally Dubstep-sounding Skream - though this remix is fast and banging electro-tech style, thus the remix title. There are also remixes by the prolific and always excellent Berliner Jesse Rose, and an amazing team-up remix by Hot Chip and the UK Jungle/Hardcore legends the Ragga Twins.

Cheers to Joe and Alex on making this thing happen - they clearly saw a great opportunity to work with David E. Silver and ran with it, with pretty spectacular results. Big up gents!

Now on to the second order of business... writing down NYPC contest and Hands Up For NY contest entries... pulling names from hat... Roy and Justin, you're both getting New Young Pony Club goodies from Modular! Bill and Claire, you're both on the guestlist with plus-ones for the party tomorrow night! Don't forget guys the party is gonna be massive! Come by the Modular room at Studio B and dance with me in the DJ booth!

Booooooooom!!!!

Comments

I bought up these mixes straight away. "Bonkers" doesn't even begin to describe it! "Maniacally flipped out," maybe... or simply "Yes, yes, yes!"

I keep hearing rumors of a new GrecoRoman mix in the works. Any news on this, robots?
