Take Controls of the Sun
The next time I'm lost in a spaceship, and hijinx are bound to ensue, I hope to god that To My Boy are with me.
With hoses bursting steam into brightly light hallows, robots on the loose chewing up panels and making bad decisions, and computer voices telling counting down the seconds until self-destruct, this is the only band in whose hands I'd trust my life. They'll flip some switches, drop some science on the dancefloor and kickstart the artifical gravity party. It's about time someone made a fun record without being so nu rave about it.
So thank you, To My Boy, for singing about space.
This song was recorded last week and will the b-side to the upcoming Fear of Fragility single on XL in the UK. It'll be out in September. Their album, Messages, is out now in the UK on the same label. Allegedly there's plans for a US-release, which would make sense. Nothing appears to be set in stone though, and the band was vague on details. It's worth tracking down on import - this record is tons of fun. Don't forget to hit their myspace.
