Could it be the Same Again?

Dirty Alice - Are We Done Counting Teeth.

This is the sound of transitionary periods, a song for those times in between. A lot of times I like music because I see its specific application in my life: a good song to wake up to, a good song to get ready to, a good song to play while fingerjamming for the first time. Blah blah blah. But a lot of life isn't made up by those moments. A lot of life is just in between shit -- just chilling at work, or sitting at home on your couch or driving to places. This is a song for those times. Not a specific use, but a general one, and for that I love it.

The song takes its time to get going, with a beat filling in over another beat as synth strings soothe and guitars crash all while a bass bubbles up underneath. There's a lot going on. It builds and builds, introducing a poppy melodic line and synth horns start farting along. It's a gorgeous thing, a hair away from complete disorganization but still clearly on track.

Dirty Alice is three fine gentlemen from Kent, on the outskirts of London. Allegedly, they've been doing this since 2003, which I believe -- just look at the number of records in their discography. This track here is from an upcoming EP. However, their entire latest album is available for free download on their site. I definitely recommend it.

I love Dirty Alice for a reason.
The reason is treason.
Treason.
Treason.
Treason is the reason.

And green lines are massive also.
