Acid (Rock)

So, you guys remember a while back this Summer when I posted some crazy modern acid-rock from France, from that Kemado-released Voyage compilation of new-Parisian psychedelia? Well, that compilation was gonna be given away free with the purchase of the new album by Turzi.
Guys, the time has come! Well, next Tuesday anyway. The new album, A is so slick and excellent (and all the songs start with A!) - total psych-out stuff, with a song like "Acid Taste" on one end of the spectrum (electronic), and other more guitar-dominated tracks at the other - but through it all is a fondness for the motorik rhythms and the krautrock feel. I am way into it.
Turzi, the music, is improvised, written, and played by Romain Turzi - a musical outlet for this all-around creative type, born in Versailles, classically trained at the Sorbonne, etc. but Romain also has a full band, called Reich IV, that plays the music with him live. Looks like they'll be here in NYC during CMJ this year, so mark your calendars in advance...
Record Makers, which released a Turzi EP in 2005, also released A in Europe earlier this Summer, but us folks in the US have had to wait for it. Next week, A will finally be available in stores, or you can hit the Kemado store now to pre-order the CD. Recommended.
