A Star Passed Over Head

Le Loup - We Are Gods! We Are Wolves!

It's finally getting a little cooler here in Los Angeles. I mean that in reference to the temperature, since I don't ever see it getting "cooler" in LA. Our dirty little secret is that we're not cool at all. But regardless, it's just about hoodie weather again, which is ideal. After about two or three months of being hot and beautiful, LA spends the next nine being the perfect last night of the summer. That night were you drive around and make some mistakes and maybe bump into a friend or two and hopefully make out a little bit (how can a night be perfect without a little freestyle finger jam?).

So as we prepare for all this perfection, you could do worse than listen to Le Loup, the other band on Hardly Art that isn't Arthur & Yu. This is one of those records that becomes part of the environment. You put it on and the next thing you know an hour has passed and the last track filled with birds chirping just fades into the actual birds chirping out your window. It's like a how a flight goes by like that when you're with a friend, or a work day is a breeze when you're busy. Le Loup just makes the time go by effortlessly. It's kind of hard to explain.

And this is where just posting an mp3 can be kind of a problem, since this sucker is an album. It's hard to pull one track out from the whole, but that's what we do here these days. This song is quite good though, with whispery vocals, tasteful bloops and bleeps, steady hand claps. When described as such it could be any current band from the northwest or brooklyn, but honestly, this album stands out. It uses all the elements of the current musical climate and makes something unique. You'll have to hear it for yourself.

You can pick up the album, The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations' Millennium General Assembly, for a measly ten bucks from our friends at Hardly Art. Definitely recommended.

Comments

I completely agree with this sentiment, the album is freakin' amazing and should be bought in mass quantities in case of nuclear holocaust, plus if you buy from hardly art they send a pin with it too.
