Rainy day music

Loch Lomond

I end up writing a lot about the weather on this blog, and I know that gets old. The thing is, Minneapolis is a weather-centric town that spends much of the year under gray, cold skies, and I listen to a lot of music while riding the bus. Music and my environment, as with most people with iPods, have become entwined.

Anyway, it's been raining here a lot lately, and I've been listening to music that fits the mood. This song's gorgeous, and it's been on repeat the past few days.

Loch Lomond - A Field Report.

Now that Sufjan Stevens a certifiable nutball, can Loch Lomond take over? I mean, they have everything they need. Not to diminish their originality, but they've got his hushed vocals, banjo, and some pretty strong arrangement skills.

Loch Lomond is from Portland, Oregon, and this track comes from their new record on Hush Records, Paper The Walls. I really like the whole disc, because all the songs are in this quietly epic vein.

You can order Paper The Walls from Hush Records.
