Awesome1 and Awesome2

we vs. the shark

As I wrote in a previous post, I love me some organized chaos. It's amazing when a song is seemingly formless, then snaps into place like nothing strange ever happened. This track isn't totally crazy or anything, but it's got that racket at the beginning, an off-kilter time signature, and a drummer who sounds like he'll die if he doesn't play as hard as he can. And then? A catchy pop melody doubled with an organ.

We Versus The Shark - The Lament Of Sue Richards.

We Versus The Shark just put out the awesomely titled EP of Bees EP on Hello Sir Records. The band is from Athens, GA, and consists of Luke Fields, Samantha Paulsen, Scott Smith, and Jeff Tobias. The disc comes with a DVD called We Wanted A New Government Not Odd Time Signatures, on which you can watch the band play live and dick around in the studio. They look like they're having a blast in both situations, and they're a pleasure to watch.

EP of Bees EP is available now, so order it from the label.
