Spain (in French), then Sweden

Souvenir - Allo Allo (Johan Agebjörn Remix)

Ah, the joys of Myspace (yet another contact that turns fruitful... but I digress).

Souvenir is a band from Pamplona, Spain, primarily made up of Patricia de la Fuente (vocals, in French) and Jaime Cristóbal (production), but they also perform with a full band. They formed in 2000 and have had a string of indie-pop hits in Europe and the US. "Allo Allo" comes from their most recent album, titled 64, which is their fourth full-length and takes their sound further into the electro-pop realm. This remix is from their newest EP, Extras 64, which you can pick up here, via their label Jabalina Musica.

You can find out more about Souvenir at their myspace page, and if you dig around on youtube, you'll find the video for this song, and some live performances too.

The remix, sounding like some awesome new Italo Disco track, comes courtesy of Sweden's Johan Agebjörn, producer of the stellar Sally Shapiro album that I posted about here back in September. Stop by Johan's myspace page to hear more of his stuff, and if you dig around on his website, you can to see more of what he's been up to and download a bunch of unreleased songs and a couple of mixes.

The internet and Tuesdays rule!
