My Cousin Roy - Frozen

Finally.

Like many of you disco-edit hounds, I've been waiting ages for the newest Wurst Edits twelve-inch to come out, and My Cousin Roy, fresh off a little European DJ tour, does not disappoint.

Backstory: Wurst Edits is run by My Cousin Roy, who you heard here with the first Wurst 12", and he has thus far also featured edits by Runaway (our pals Marcus and Jacques, who I've had play with me at PDDNM), and the inimitable Lee Douglas. Well "Frozen" comes from Wurst Edits #4, and is an excellent mid-tempo disco edit that sounds super fresh and excellent, regardless of whether or not you know any of the original source material. The B-side track is sick too, with a dirty latin-boogie disco feel, crazy percussion and saxamophone. Hotness.

Like the previous Wurst releases, it is limited to a thousand copies, so you'll have to act quickly if you want to own one - UK kids can get it right now via Piccadilly or Juno, and we should be able to find it in the US at Turntable Lab this week.

Oh, and this Thursday night is the Wurst Monthly party at APT here in New York (and the boys are doing a New Year's party there too), so be there early for Pigs in Blankets and other sausage-type-foods served with your disco bombs. Boom!
