Fire walk with me
I've been listening to the new Bon Iver album For Emma, Forever Ago a bunch over this last week. Mark wrote about Bon Iver back in November, and I thought this part of the post was a good point to mention now:
...it technically doesn't come out until February, when you folks on the east coast will be sick to death of the cold, and us on the west coast will be happy to see a little rain.
Could he have been any more on the money? No. Great job buddy. We're all ready for spring. The album is gloriously full of warmth, and tinged with darkness - perfect for the death of winter. The songs are sweet and sad. His high-register voice soothes me, and spooks me a bit too.
Check out this amazing video for Bon Iver's equally amazing song "Wolves (Act I & II)" - and read the description of the video on the actual youtube page to get a bit more context for it. Dark and beautiful.
Buy For Emma, Forever Ago now from Jagjaguar or Amazon.com - highly recommended.
