Sally Shapiro - Jackie Junior (Junior Boys Remix)

I posted about Sally Shapiro, the silky-voiced italo disco Swede, a while back when her debut album was released over on this side of the pond. It would appear that a number of things have converged recently, as there are now two albums full of remixed Sally Shapiro songs, the first of which was released digitally a month or so back, and is available as a CD on the 15th of this month.

I said things seem to be converging because almost every remix on the first volume is an artist we've featured here on MFR or that I've been following via their own work or their other remixes. This remix of "Jackie Jackie" (video for the original song here) by MFR favorites Junior Boys, is a slice of slowed down, dripping-wet, electro funk genius. The other tracks include reworks and remixes by Tensnake, the Juan Maclean, Holy Fuck, Skatebård, Lindstrøm, and Vol. 2 of the CD include work by Dntel, Solvent, Russian Futurists, and Alexander Robotnick among others. The tracks were picked by Sally's producer and MFR-pal Johan Agebjörn, and the CDs are being released by the Toronto-based Paper Bag Records.
