It Used to be called Ursa Major.
This is the sound of heading face first down a waterslide in slow motion as your friend careens in a tuck position off the roof into the pool, blistering in the 95-degree heat. There's a haze to it, but there's action too. It's the sound of things ending in the same way they started: slowly. It's loud enough to start your car in the morning and when you pick the haystack you'll find a bunch of rewarding needles.
Listen. Maybe it all sounds like Houston, what with all the syrup drinking that goes on down there. Maybe your foot got stuck in the hot tar and you were too stoned to move anymore. Or maybe you'd just had enough and wanted to drone out for a while. It's not important. The point is that Indian Jewelry have a new record. Remember their last one? It was only two years ago and I'm pretty sure you loved it. You definitely love their live show. You'll like this one. It's a dense, heavy record, but in the best possible way.
The new record is called Free Gold and it will soon be available from our old friends at We Are Free. I believe it's out on May 20th. In the meantime, they'll be going on a massive tour. You can check the full dates on their myspace. For those of us in LA, they'll be at the echo on the 22nd with our boys The Muslims. So cancel your plans and pick up a ticket. Highly recommended.
