All the video in this video appears to be Northern Irish sectarian rioting. Attitudes and backgrounds a little different, these kids are probably being organised by some ex paramilitaries to do a bit of ethnic cleansing. Great stuff indeed.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to represent just a general disrespect for authority in the youth. No need to look to much into it.

Sure, I understand that, it's just a manipulated image. Which is perfectly acceptable in a po-mo way. But that footage, being presented as general disrepect towards authority as you say, has a reality, and it's enlightening to take that on board. It's not needed, but I'm just giving my view, because the video means something different to me. The rioting is about politically bankrupt authority, and illegitimate authority, I don't know that the song and footage identify with one another that much when you start to look at their meanings. Footage of No'r'n Irish violence sets me on edge, too close to the bone.

Alfonso, I agree. They're not really that far from being child soldiers, it just makes me sad.

Maybe the video's trying to show how such behaviour can seem appealing, to make us sympathise... or something... but it comes across as an unthinking attempt at edginess though superficial use of violent and political imagery.
