Then a breeze begins to blow

I know what you're thinking: you're afraid the weekend will come, and you won't have heard any handclaps all week. You're afraid that Saturday morning will arrive, and you'll be filled with a deep sense of loneliness and shame, your life bereft of the pep and vigor that handclaps so readily provide.
Theresa Andersson - Birds Fly Away.
You're welcome.
Actually, thank Andersson, who hails from New Orleans. This track appears on her album Hummingbird, Go!, out September 3 on Basin Street Records. (This song is also on her I The River EP.)
I love this song, and when I first heard it, I thought it reminded me of Jens Lekman. Then I realized that Sweden's Tobias Froberg produced the record, which means only one thing: I may not be able to do basic arithmetic, but I can spot Swedish pop music a mile away. (I'm adding that to my resume.) Hummingbird, Go! is a record with very good songs and surprising little moments that will keep you happy. (It also has a cover of Froberg's "God's Highway", which I posted back in 2006.)
Look for Hummingbird, Go! when it comes out in a couple months on Basin Street Records.
