Backbone and literary prowess

I meant to post this one yesterday, because I can't think of a better example of weekend music. I forgot, so I'm doing it Saturday instead, and you readers who only peruse the site from cubicles will have to settle for memories. Remember how on Saturday night you did that thing, with that person, and it was awesome? This was playing in your head.
One For The Team - Best Supporting Actor.
One For The Team is one of Minneapolis' finest bands, and it's fronted by Ian Anderson, one of Minneapolis' finest musical forces. He heads Afternoon Records, home to Haley Bonar, Mouthful of Bees, and other great Twin Cities artists. Anderson gets a lot of attention - and deservedly so - but how about the other players here? You've got Grace Fiddler's familiar-but-not-derivative synth, Elliot Manthey's clockwork drums, and, holding it all together, John Krueger's loping bass. Then Anderson and Caperton on guitars, playing those catchy lines that may as well be melodies.
As you can imagine, OFTT are an absolute hoot to see live (see for yourself here), and their new record Build It Up is a great summer record. It's out on iTunes now.
