The Wurst gets better every time

A few weeks back*, our friends The Wurst Edits crew put out another killer twelve-inch. This one shows the edit talents of Eamon Harkin, one of New York City's best DJs (via his homeland of Ireland) - he has been a player in the club scene here since 2004 and has hosted and played with some of the best DJs around, including Joakim, Afrika Bambaataa, Todd Terje, The Egyptian Lover, and Juan Atkins. His style comfortably floats between techno, electro, disco, and house both new and old.
From his Wurst Edits record, you get a great sampling of his own tastes, including a wild re-edit of some classic, synth-heavy John Carpenter soundtrack-disco (which sounds mindblowing on a club system!). The flip features this track, "Innit", which is an edit of an early Chicago house track by The Mixmasters. Both tracks sound amazing, and both work like a charm on the dancefloor - I've heard Eamon and others play them out, and I've played them out myself to similar effect. Strongly recommended.
For now, you can buy it from our pals at the Turntable Lab though they are running out - if you get it from them soon you'll also get a slick "The Wurst Summer 2008" t-shirt, commemorating the good times that we shared (including thee Wurst Boat Party). The summer never dies!
And, back to the NYC scene, Eamon and my pal James Friedman have their monthly party, Primetime, at Love this Saturday night, and they're featuring none other than Italo Disco legend, Alexander Robotnick - check out the flyer HERE - you definitely need to be there, as it will be a hell of a night.
*Yes, I know I've been conspicuously absent from these pages for a while now, but real life and a day-job has a way of taking over and things like MFR (and even music in general) get pushed aside. I don't know that I'll ever again be able to post music every day, but I will be putting things up here more frequently than this last month or two.
