Parading all over the radio

Is it just me, or are there many more Christmas records and EPs this year than usual? I'm not complaining, because I love Christmas music, but it gets hard to find the good ones when even Enya is getting into the act.

Minnesota's own Haley Bonar quietly put out a Christmas EP recently, and I'm glad I found it. It's got some old favorites as well as a couple of new ones.

Haley Bonar - Only Xmas.

I had a hard time choosing a song, so I figured the title track of the Only Xmas EP would suffice. It's a credit to Bonar's ingenuity that that she can make "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" her own, and while the world doesn't need its millionth cover of Joni Mitchell's "River", the version here is beautiful.

Thanks a lot for the download, Haley Bonar's great. I know what you mean about so many Christmas albums this year though, there are a lot, and when there's a lot of something it can't all be good. =)

Christmas albums this year though, there are a lot, and when there's a lot of something it can't all be good. =)
